As I write this on 27 September, we are enjoying a classic and quite prolonged Indian summer – dry with clear skies and beautiful autumn light. There are still plenty of dragonflies – particularly hawkers and darters - on the wing and berries galore on the hedgerow trees. There was no big official opening, but on Wednesday new owner, Mr Mohamed Nanji said that the following day he would be “25% open” and sure enough on Thursday the shelves were filling up and anyone who popped in found manager, ‘Mr Baz’, ready to serve them with whatever was available. ‘Tuesdays at the Barn’ Group celebrated their 2nd birthday in September. This group is an off-shoot of St Botolph’s Church and meets weekly for Discussion and Worship at Botolph’s Barn, Church Lane, Helpston.
