A lady has reported that recently she answered a knock at her door to a male who said he was looking for someone with a gravel drive to do him a favour. The gravel in his truck had been over ordered by his Dad and he needed to empty the truck to pick something up from Cambridge. He initially said he didn’t want anything for the gravel but once it was off loaded he said there was more than he thought and asked for £770. The lady argued for more than 30 mins, threaten to call the police and eventually agreed to pay him a considerably smaller amount.
The lady felt intimidated and was relieved when he finally left. The male is described as white, aged late 20’s to early 30’s, approx. 6′ tall with short mid brown hair and dressed in jeans and a white or cream knitted sweater and spoke with what is thought to be a local accent.
He was very pleasant and chatty at first but his manner changed when he didn’t get the amount of money he wanted. He also said in conversation that he liked the villages to the north of Peterborough so if you answer the door to this gent send him packing if possible get the registration no of the vehicle and call the Police on 0845 456 456 4.

Awful! Hey, why doesn’t he go and ask for money off his dad for over ordering anyway!
Dear Residents,
Please if you get anyone knocking at your door offering to sell you goods or offer a service to re-roof your property, tarmac your drive or fell a tree then refuse it! Quite often this reasonable priced service will increase and you may not get the quality service that you expect.
If you require work around the house completed then use credited services in the Yellow Pages or from recommendations from friends, family and neighbours. Report these unwanted callers to the police on 0345 456 456 4 providing us with as much detail as you can of description and vehicles used.
