Former Arthur Mellows student and Glinton resident, Jo Kirkpatrick is raising money for the Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Speaking from her office in London, where she now lives and works, Jo told the Tribune: “On July 1st 2009, I will be cycling from London to Paris! I will be starting in Greenwich and working my way down to Dover before hopping on a ferry over to Calais. After 4 days and 300 miles of cycling I reach Paris on the 4th day. The 5th day is a free day in Paris before returning home, and I’m sure I will get to take in all the lovely sights whilst thinking of all the good that will come from your donations.
“Although I know it’s going to be a lot of hard work and there will probably be times that I’ll just want to give up, I am very determined to do this and I know that with people’s support (and donations!) I will be cycling to Paris!! I will be doing this in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care and I would be very grateful for any donations anyone can give, as it will all help me on the way to my goal.”
