Maxey village resident Debbie Hiller has been appointed as the Local Education Authority’s (LEA) governor at Northborough Primary School. She replaces Jo Newbold, who resigned after moving abroad. Debbie’s application was approved in December by Cllr Stephen Goldspink the city council’s cabinet member for education and children’s services.

A senior learning consultant with Caterpillar/ Perkins in the city, Debbie’s professional background embraces executive recruitment, senior management training and development, HR and employment law. She has also recently been awarded fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development in recognition of her many years successful work in these and associated fields. With primary school-aged grandchildren of her own, she says she’s looking forward to working with her fellow governors at Northborough and thanks those who have already personally welcomed her.
