Maxey Drive-by shooting

The peace in Maxey village was broken on Saturday (23rd July) when a car screached out of Castle Drive, heading towards Market Deeping and one of the two youths in the car shot and hit a local resident who was walking down to the Blue Bell pub in the arm.

Chris Wales told the Tribune: I was about 50 yeards from the Blue Bell when I saw (and heard) a white car come out of Castle Drive at speed. The car had two occupants who were laughing as they drove past and then I felt a pain in my right arn. Initially, I thought I had been stung but soon realised that I had been hit by a pellet from some kind of airgun. I reported the incident to the police when I arrived at the pub. Thank goodness I was not a local mum pushing her young child along.
