Team Glinton clean-up

As Glinton’s contribution towards the National Clean up your Community initiative, a hardy band of volunteers met behind the chemist’s at 11am, on Saturday 21st March.

Village residents Jill and David Cowcil, Verity Missin, Dave’s friend Nick, Councillor and Mrs Holdich, Parish Councillors Wragg, and myself, together with a team of four from Macdonald’s plus Michael and the ‘Love where you live’ van and last but not least Jamie and Gavin from Peterborough City Council, all defied the bitterly cold wind and collected the sea of rubbish pictured here.
It was collected in less than two hours and thanks go to everyone who took part, for their cheerfulness and hard work. My thanks also go to Jamie McFarlane for providing the high-viz jackets, gloves, bags and pickers.
Lastly I would like to give a special thank you to William at the Blue Bell who invited us all in for a welcome hot drink when we had finished. It was a real community effort!! Thank you everyone!
